Where can I find Credit Card applications online?

Will denied credit card applications hurt you if you have no credit history?

  • I'm trying to get a credit card, but I'm 18 and I have no credit history. I just tried 4 different applications (Discover Student, Capital One Journey, American Express, and one through my bank). Will that hurt my credit history, considering that I don't even have any history? Also, is there any way I could get a credit card with no credit history? I'm a student, but even the student cards and the cards specifically for building credit have all turned me down. Any suggestions?

Stop applying. You will only get denied. Too many applications for credit cards looks like you are over extending yourself. The law that went into effect a couple years ago, requires that people under 21 must provide proof of sufficient income to qualify for the card. Most cards want to see at least 12 months off employment history to go along with that income. You will probably have to start with a secured card. Check with your bank.

do not get a credit card. The limits you can get are so low you will harm your credit more. If your parents add you to a card and just destroy the card as long as they use it and pay well you will have great credit when you have the income and maturity to handle it Best cheapest way to establish credit is a secured bank loan pay off over 7 months and repeat until you can get an unsecured one. Getting a CC to start your file is not only stupid because even if you get one the limit will be so low you will cause more harm then good using it it is stupid because until you have practice paying debts CC offer to much freedom

Yes, they will!!! Stop applying for that type of card if all you're getting is negative results because you have no established credit. You may ruin your chances of getting another type you may be eligible for!!! A secured credit card is the easiest to obtain because you're getting no more credit than what you have deposited into your own account to cover the credit line.

If you're in the US, the legal age for a credit card is now 21, not 18... unless you have significant income to prove that you have the ability to pay it back. Your best option is to try to obtain a secured credit card, until you're older.

Without history this should not be a problem. The best way to start is go for a department store card like Macy's and get a parent to cosign. Use the card and pay it off for six months then try again with your bank.

You can go with a secured credit card. Stop applying because denied applications do hurt your credit.
