How long does it take to get a payment from your eBay into your PayPal?

• I just recently made an eBay and PayPal to sell my laptop and I got the payment right away but it still says the money is pending. I've already shipped the item an included tracking number. How long does it usually take to get the money when your account is new?

  Jenny, Unfortunately, because you're a new seller and the item you sold was an electronic gadget and expensive, (Paypal considers laptops expensive) PayPal can and will hold up your funds for up to 21 days. They do this to help make sure that there are funds in the seller's account to cover potential refunds or dispute/claims. The funds may be released early if PayPal determines that the transaction has been fulfilled and the customer is satisfied. While funds are pending, the money belongs to you but isn't available to spend or withdraw. What you could do to possibly speed up the process of having your funds released early is to email the buyer and ask him/her very nicely to do you a big favor and leave you glowing positive feedback for your transaction. Once this is done and PayPal sees this, they more than likely will release the pending status on your account. All they want to see is that you're not some scam artist out to make a fast buck.
