  • Answer:

contact all the companies on your credit report to try and settle your debts with payment plans etc. also do not apply for any credit cards and continue to pay for other bills on time and in full if you can. Cleaning up your credit report can seem like an insurmountable task, but take heart, and don't be tempted to enlist the help of so-called credit-repair companies. Tackling your credit report doesn't take a rocket science degree, although it can be an arduous task that takes some patience. Read: "What Are Credit Reports Anyway?" to learn more about what's included in your credit report. To begin with, credit bureaus make mistakes. If you believe that there's a mistake or inaccuracy on your credit report, before you roll up your sleeves, you need to get a copy of your report from all three credit bureaus, i.e., Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, to see if the erroneous information is reflected on all three bureaus. Highlight any suspicious information contained in your reports, and send three separate letters requesting an investigation to each respective bureau. Each credit bureau has 30 days to investigate disputes regarding possible mistakes, and then they must submit their results to you in writing. Be sure to include the following: Full company name of the disputed item (from your credit report) Account number of the disputed item (from your credit report) Reason for your dispute, i.e., you have paid the account, it's not your account, etc. If a mistake is found they will correct it and issue you a revised credit report for free. If a credit bureau's findings are substantiated, and there are legitimate challenges to your report, there are several things that can help improve your credit: Pay your bills on time Refrain from applying for additional credit Close unused accounts Seek non-profit credit counseling Be patient. It can take awhile to establish an optimal credit history The good news is, with some hard work, discipline and patience; your creditworthiness can be greatly improved, or completely rebuilt. First off, if you can't pay your creditors off, you may have to seek a financial mediator/councilor that can negotiate a payment plan for you with your creditors. Your only other option is to claim bankruptcy, which is expensive and will take 10 years to get off your credit record. If you get a judgment against you though, and you can't pay it, you are in even bigger trouble. However you get out of you current debt crisis, you have to start rebuilding your credit rating slowly, and smartly. Within about two years, you will start to get offers from credit card companies again. You will have to suffer and endure loan shark high interest rates and finance charges, but that is the price you must pay to get back on good terms with any future creditors. Make sure that any time you use your cards, you must pay more than the minimum, and always pay ON-Time or better yet, early. It would be best to pay off the whole balance you owe for the entire month. This way your credit rating goes up and you don't get spanked with the high interest charges. After a couple of years of this, you will slowly see your credit rating rise. Make sure that while you are ding all of this, you put money in the bank. Feed the pig, have some savings, and have collateral, and keep a steady job for YEars not months. Finally, try and get a small loan. Explain that you really don't need a personal loan but that you are really trying to re-establish your credit. Have all your current information with you and have one or two credit cards that have no balance on them. The banks like to see that you have a scource of disposable income from other creditors without a huge balance on them. Just be patient, take it slow, pay your bills on time, and your credit rating will improve....trust me friend, I know.

you should order your credit reports first, go through them thoroughly, make sure every thing is correct. Contact the credit card companies and try to pay them off, some of them will offer you a settlement which will be less than you owe, once you pay them it will report to credit report as paid. As for the civil suits you have to go to court to try to have them removed from your credit and also set up a payment plan with them. good luck

Hello. There are a lot of things that you can do. Everyone has the same idea, pay them off and things will get better and save money. They are right and it may help and I'm sure you've tried it before. What I would suggest is, that you keep making your payments. Gain some financial literacy and understand how your creditors plan is designed to keep you broke and make them rich. If I told you that I could not only show you a way to pay your debts off in a third of the time it would normally take you while increasing your scores minimum of 50 points to 150 points in as little as 6 months. What would you say? What if I told you based off your credit, your debt, and natural daily routine that I could give you a debt free date and millionaire cash date for you to work towards. If you knew the exact date, month and year you would literally be debt free and a CASH Millionaire doing nothing different. What would you say? I do this as a service daily and I offer a Financial Solution for you and your every need. I'm not a credit repair company or anything of that nature. I'm Financial Solutions Concierge. I teach financial literacy to big and small companies as well as individuals like yourself. Innovative Financial Solutions. www.fdidvd.com/davislaw I look forward to speaking with you.

Pay those old debts or wait 10 years until they clear/ and then start small and build slowly.

you start by cutting expenses and paying off your old bills. then you get a pre-paid card [like the one Capital One issues where you put up $500 cash in their bank and they give you a card with a $500 limit] and pay if off IN FULL each and every month. And without overlimit incidents, either. that'll be a start

Here is a great card to help reestablish http://mycreditwealth.com/. Best advice you can get at this point in the game is to save save save. Due to the fact that you not going to get a good loan anytime soon. After you have 3 or 4 months in reserve, you can then start to communicate with the collection companies and work on a pay for deletion. This is not going to happen over night however, if you work on it you can get back on track in less than 2 years instead of 7 plus years.

Start paying them off ASAP. If you dont pay them off, they will never come off your record. And those Credit cards will just build up too. if you maxed a credit card with a 300 dollar limit and stopped paying, they would default you to the 29% interest rate. That 300 dollar debt would compound to 3800 dollars after 10 years. A $1,000 debt would compound to 12,700 after 10 years. Also in the future, dont use credit cards as loans. You have to pay them off every month, or they will just make you poor.

first you need to get rid of those civil suits. Those judgments can make your life impossible for many years ( up to 20 in many states with the option to renew for another 20) in the future. They can affect your being able to get employment or a place to live. Nothing is worse than having your bank account cleaned out when you least expect it. You do not state how much the suits are for or if you even have a chance of paying them off in the future. If the amounts are tremendous then discuss it with a real lawyer and see if they can be put aside or if bankruptcy is an option.
