How to use a visa gift card on paypal?

I recently opened a paypal account, and tried to add a Visa gift card to use for credit. I know for sure that there's still balance on the card, but each time I've tried to enter the card information, but each time I get the message "We were unable to verify this credit card. Please check if the information you entered is correct. If the problem persists, please try to enter a different credit card." Is there a way to use a gift card on paypal, and how?

no paypal does not accept visa gift cards they do make on exception if you get the green dot money [pak that one the only one they work with
