When going to the Passport Office, what ID do you need to take?

I'm going on a trip to London & NY, if I need a form of ID when using a credit card will a Passport work?

  • I don't have any other form of ID. I only have my passport. sometimes I see stores asking for ID when you use a credit card, so if i get asked will i be able to show them my passport as an ID?

  • Answer:

Should, it's a photo ID issued by the U.S.Government.

Yes, a passport is fine. Technically, in the US stores are not supposed to ask for ID for credit card purchases, but some still do.

You can't get any better than a passport for id so long as it is valid. (not expired)

of course and in side of the USA no merchant may require ID for a card purchase
