• I have this card for young adults and teens, like me, called American Express PASS. It is a re-loadable debit card where your legal guardian puts money on the account for you and it works like any American Express would. However, Steam, a digital game distributor, does not directly accept them, and suggested putting money on a PayPal account to purchase games. I started up an account, but it seems the only way to add money is by putting in some weird number from a checkbook, which the card does not come with,nor can you get for your PASS account. The account is valid and registered to American Express, but is there any other way to add money to the PayPal account?

  No. You can only add money to Paypal with a bank transfer of money. That number on your checking account is the routing number. If you buy with Paypal, and your Paypal is linked to your bank account, Paypal will take the payment directly from your bank account. You don't have to have a Paypal balance to buy. But you cannot add money to Paypal from anything except your bank account.
