How does Amazon shipping work?

How does Amazon shipping work?

  • I never really tried Amazon before. I'm planning on buying various stuff from different brands and such. Do I get my package in one box? Or each brand comes one by one? Also Hot Topic doesn't ship to P.O. Boxes so will it make a difference to order Hot Topic stuff using Amazon?

  • Answer:

The brand doesn't matter but the seller does. There are three main possibilities: Amazon sells the items directly: Amazon possesses and owns the items. You buy from them and they might ship your items together or separately depending on factors at the warehouses etc. These items qualify for Amazon super saver and Prime shipping. Amazon stocks the items for a third-party seller: Amazon posseses but does not own the items. You buy via Amazon (who passes on the money to the seller or sellers) and Amazon packs and ships your items. They might arrive together or separately depending on factors at the warehouses etc. These items qualify for Amazon super saver and Prime shipping. Amazon lists the items, but a third-party seller posseses and owns them. You buy via Amazon (who passes on the money to the seller) and the seller ships your items according to the shipping rates you agreed to when you placed the order. These items do not qualify for Amazon super saver or Prime shipping.
