How do telemarketers get paid?

What do phone company executives and their higher-ranking resourceful employees do when telemarketers call?

• Whether they're on the "Do Not Call" list of not, they probably still get calls like the rest of us. But when they get unsolicited, suspicious, or annoying calls at home, I would think they'd have the power to find out who's behind the calls more than we would. Do they find the company or people behind the number, the "unknown number", or bogus number? Do they get their numbers truly off the telemarketers lists? Are they being paid by the callers to slip through the system? I think a way to make more money would be to offer a service where the annoying callers are tracked down, and their callers' and managers' home and cell numbers are made public.
