What "grails package" actually does?

Fedex said they delivered my package, but they didn't?

  • I placed and order online and opted for the 2 day shipping (Fedex) from the merchant. The day prior to the scheduled delivery, a message was left on my answering machine by Fedex stating that my package would be delivered tomorrow and to make sure I was available to sign for the package. I was home all day, and took a seat by the window to watch out for the truck since I knew the package was coming. It was around 1:30, and I decided to check the tracking info on line since I was getting bored of being stuck at home for half the day. To my horror, the tracking info said the package was delivered at 10:52! I saw several trucks in my court that day. the UPS truck, the mail truck and a moving truck...no Fedex truck!! My doorbell never rang, no knock on the door, and my dog never barked to let me know there was someone at the house. She barks like crazy if there is anyone near my house. Online, they claim the package delivered to recipient address and left at the front door. there is no copy of a signature because on the online display, they claim none was required. I called Fedex immediately. They claim the package was delivered and some guy named "Dan" signed for the package. Who the heck is Dan?!! None of my neighbors are named "Dan". They told me they would contact the driver and call me back. Two hours later I never heard back, so I called them back myself. After speaking to a rep, they said that they were blocked and unable to get through on my phone when they attempted to call. Keep in mind they called and left a message the day before to say my package would be delivered. They also told me that the driver claims he delivered the package to the wrong address and would retrieve it and deliver it to me that same night. By 8PM no package. I called back again, and spoke to another rep. They put me on hold and tried to call the driver. I was told that no one was answering at the station and that the drivers would be out delivering until 9PM. In the day of cellphones, the driver really couldn't be reached? Needless to say, my package hasn't arrived. Now that it's the next day, I'm loosing hope that my package will actually arrive. I have very "neighborly" neighbors who would have given the package to me had it been "accidentally" delivered to their house. Who to say that the driver...lets call him "Dan" doesn't have my package. How can I prove this? What can I do? I contacted the merchant to relay some of this info and see if the package was insured. But it seems to me that if Fedex made the mistake, they should be the one to correct it..that same day! And if any Tom, Dick or "Dan" can sign for your packages, what good does it do to require a signature?!!

  • Answer:

The merchant needs to be involved. Tell them that your package never arrived and demand either a refund or the merchandise. They will have to request the proof of delivery from FedEx and file any claims against them.
