Has anyone heard anything about the lowes class action lawsuit lately?

Assuming you signed-up for the lawsuit (if not, you can't join later)..... The official site is http://lowesclassaction.com/ but it's not updated. I called the firm handling the case after I'd heard a settlement agreement had been reached, just to confirm I was "on the list". Their lackey only confirmed I was included and had no other information. A word of warning: the first thing they do when you call them is ask for your social security #. Yet. An employee at another store said that the settlement payouts had actually begun and they were going to send them out alphabetically at the end of October 2007. THEN I heard that they weren't doing it that way since it was unfair, so ALL the payouts were going to happen at once. It's now November 6th or so and I've received nothing yet. The moral of the story is to find another job. Lowe's management are kriffing scum, stealing from the very people who make them rich. It's unethical and disgusting...IMO these bastards got off light, since part of the settlement is 'admitting to no wrongdoing." Yeah, right. They should call themselves The Enron of Home Improvement.

Heard the message today and the checks are being mailed this coming Monday!!!! :-) About time!! Should receive the checks by Wednesday the 13th......

Ok the message on the lawyers "Answering Machine" does say Monday November 12th, buuuuttttttt thats a holiday. I still wouldn't count on getting any kinda check anytime soon. They have changed the date at least 5 times in the past 4 months. So its really hard to believe that they are telling the truth this time. The last time they changed it was on the day that the checks were supposed to be mailed out. So basically my suggestion is to set back and wait. Probably sometime next year if we are lucky ;)
