Lost or delayed international mail?

• I need some advice/opinions/whatever on this. I sent some mail by Royal Mail Airsure to Brazil about 3 months ago and it still hasn't arrived. I did put my return address on the back. I was told by the post office that the mail left the UK the next day after I'd posted it and that if the status message on the online Track and Trace service hasn't been updated, then it means it hasn't been delivered. I don't know if my mail is just horribly delayed or has completely gone astray, but how often does something like this happen? Especially with mail to Brazil? I have unfortunately heard some terrible things about people sending packages to Brazil and a lot of them either take weeks to turn up or don't turn up at all. I'm not interested in making a claim for lost mail with Royal Mail - just wondering what kind of situation I'm looking at here, and whether anyone has had any experience of mail taking more than a month to arrive abroad.

  I have sent mail to Brazil twice by this method and both times it took about a month to arrive. So my guess is that your mail has been lost somewhere in the process.
