For eBay, how do I delete an item that I am selling?

HOW TO STOP SOMEONE BIDDING AGAINST ITEM I AM SELLING ON EBAY?

  • I have tried to sort this out by going through all the Ebay questions and answers, even tried ringing but getting nowhere. There is a person on Ebay who bids for my items, he outbids everyone but then never pays. When I contact him he never replies, so I have to re-list the item for sale again. A few weeks later he bids again but uses a different i.d. so I do not know it is him, he wins the bid again then does not pay so I have to re-list the item again. And so it goes on. There is no way of checking any bidders addresses as they only use their i.d. and Ebay, goodness knows why, lets these people change their i.d's every 30 days. Why legitimate buyers and sellers need to do this beggars belief. Ebay should ensure ALL the i.d's they have used should be listed when they put in their bids so we can block them from buying, because if they need to change i.d every month then something is not quite right.. Does someone know of a way to find out what the bidders i.d's or addresses are before the close of the bid in order to check if it is this idiot bidding again. He is wasting my time and goodness knows how many others time. I hope some EBAY or computer whizz kid can give me an answer. Thank you.

  • Answer:

Go to your "My eBay" page. Click on the "Account" tab. Go to "Site preferences". Select the "Buyer requirements" section. Mine is set to block bidders who: Have received 2 unpaid item(s) recorded on their account within 1 month(s) or Have a primary delivery address in a location I don't post to or Have a Feedback score of -1 or lower or Have a Feedback score of 5 or lower and no credit card on file. That keeps most of the time-wasters away. "I want to know if there is a way of checking the bidders i.d's or addresses BEFORE the close of the bidding" Apart from checking their feedback score, there isn't, unfortunately. "Ebay are encouraging fraudulent use of their site and it should be stopped." I agree. As long as eBay is making a profit, they don't care how it affects their members.

If they keep creating new accounts, presumably they don't have very high feedback. Add a condition to the item info that either bidders must have above some specific feedback score, or that anyone with a lower score than (10, 20 whatever) must contact you before bidding. You can then legitimately cancel bids from anyone breaking your rule. I've never done this, but I think?? you can set a condition on the item so it simply won't allow low feedback users to place bids.

One thing you could do if you get a fake bid and the winner doesn't pay is offer the second highest bidder a second chance offer. They may or may not choose to accept the offer but if they do it will get the item sold.
