Walmart Returns Policy for products after 90 days.?

  • Does Walmart give refunds for things returned after 90 days? As I don't have a car, I can't go to Walmart very often and hence, did not visit the place since my last purchase in Sept 06. I bought a portable telephone, electric pot and printer ink at that time. The portable telephone sucks (so I put it back in the box after 2 days), the electric pot non stick surface came out after 5 uses and I didn't use the printer ink at all. Do you think Walmart would still accept refunds on these items, now that I finally have the time to go there to return the stuff? I'm in California - is the returns policy any different here? Thank you so much!

    I worked there for a year 2 years ago, I think you get a gift card in the amount. But they have to verify that you did purchase the items so as long as you have the upc and the products should be ok.

it is company policy to refund ANY item for which the customer can produce the receipt. many store managers outside rural markets do set maximum time limits on refunds or exchanges but nothing a quick call to the G.O. should correct most of this.

They don't return items after 90 days. But if you have the original packaging, you can return it without a receipt for an even exchange or get the money put on a gift card. I don't advocate lying, but in your case a little white lie may be in order. They won't give you cash for your return without a receipt. And the downside to this is, without a receipt you also have to take the price that the item rings up for and as you know, their items go on clearance often. Anyhow, this is what I had to do when I had a purchase that broke soon after I bought it; by the time I had gotten around to return it, I was past the deadline. When I returned it without the receipt though, the item was clearanced down to $15. Good Luck.
