What retail stores pay weekly?

Would it be POSSIBLE to get a $2.80 pay raise at Retail stores like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc.?

  • I know that is a huge increase for retail jobs but if I was convincing enough would it be POSSIBLE (hint the word POSSIBLE) or would there be some sort of company policy, law, etc. that wouldn't allow it?

  • Answer:

Sorry you haven't been educated on the matrix pay system retailers use but you have no chance. Ask your store's HR/personnel people how this works for your position. Unless you are working for about $1/hour selling widgets on the side of the street right now, retail doesn't offer much in wages. The way you see a noticeable raise in retail is to increase your responsibilities-most notably go into management, specifically get salary pay. This goes both ways though. Once you are salary the company can ask you to work more than 40 hours-and most companies commonly do this. When that happens your pay conceivably goes down when you start dividing your pay by your hours but hopefully it's still better pay than when you were paid by the hour. If you want to stay in retail, this is what you've got to deal with. Exactly why I happily left it!!!!
