Would you please tell me how you would respond to this job interview question?

  • Image that you are having dinner with a number of your company's most important customers. You order an expensive stake cooked rare, and then it comes back well-done. What do you do?

  • Answer:

You tell them you wanted it rare not well done so go cook me another one. Simple as that. Dont be embarrassed to say. Be authoritative and dont be afraid to ask for what you want. Some people find that as attractive trait.

have them take it back but be nice about it

You would say "excuse me, but I ordered my stake rare" and they will gladly take it back and redo your order with no hassle. No one will complain it has happen many times before. If it's me having to deal with it then I would say " I'm sorry I'lll correct that for you sorry for the inconvenience" and walk away with thier order and correct it as fast as you can. As you know you never give them the same stake give them a fresh one.

I wouldn't order steak.

Tell the waiter that you ordered the steak rare and that it's well done. Be honest, straight-forward and get the problem corrected.

Call the waiter and quietly without fuss tell him the problem. If any of your guests have ordered steak, check with them that theirs is cooked as they wished. Don't make a big deal of it and be polite to the waiting staff.
