What's hiring process at Target like?

Target "Seasonal" cashier position, ORIENTATION question?!?

  • I recently was offered a seasonal position at Target as a cashier/sales associate. I signed the "Conditional Job Offer Addendum" which states the benefits, etc of Target employees. I was asked to take a drug test within the 24 hours after my interview, which I did right after I left Target that same afternoon. I'm sure I passed the drug test because I have never done any and my background is clean, no records, infractions, or etc. Since I'm sure I passed the drug test and background check, am I considered hired since I signed the addendum agreement? Or can they take their offer back? After my interview I was told by the HR director that I will be called within the next 2 weeks for orientation, but I haven't got a call since then. I've called Target's HR center and I was connected to the store operator and was told they had an orientation last weekend. But I was also told they're still having a few more orientations because of mass hiring of seasonal associates. But it's been 2 weeks now, getting kind of worried due to me needing a source of income. Has anyone experienced anything similar w/ Targets hiring process? Any useful info is greatly appreciated. Seriously answers only please, thanks in advance!

    Just keep calling everday til they schedule you for orientation. they hire a LOT of people this time of year. its not exactly organized.

don't worry am sure they'll call.....am sure your not the only person they hired,<its probably like a dozen of you for seasonal...so what they're most likely doing is waiting for everyone's drug test results to come back so they can have all of you guys start around the same time.....also they're probably trying to get everyone's paper work together....all that stuff takes alot of time.....give them about another week to call..if they don't try going up there and ask to talk to the manager and tell them they never called you back to tell you when orientation is.
