Can you buy off of ebay with a Visa gift card?

i'm planning on asking for a 100$ visa gift card for christmas, so i could buy something worth 68$ off of ebay. can i buy a visa gift card and somehow buy off of ebay with it? is it the same as using PayPal? is every way of getting money on paypal the same? also if you can, then can you buy two gift cards and combine the amount of money on it? for an example if i were to buy a 25$ gift card and a 100$ gift card, would i be able to combine them to make 125$? and one last question, can you also pay the cost of the shipping with the money from the visa gift card? thanks! please help asap, christmas is comming soon!
