Shipping company or moving company?

Best moving/shipping company?

  • I am moving my belongings from Ontario to Florida. I already moved down here myself it was somewhat of an emergency. I'm a college student and i really don't have that much stuff. Just clothes, bedding, and about four large containers filled with my possessions. I am trying to figure out the best way to move my belongings from Ontario to here. And the cheapest. i was looking into consolidated shipping but it seems that I just can't find any prices. I'm not sure which would be cheaper consolidated shipping, FedEx, or just hiring a moving company. All of my stuff is being stored in my friend's garage at the moment and I won't be there to move any of it myself given the current circumstances its really not an option for me to go up in a Uhaul myself. Any ideas on what would be the cheapest way? Any help is appreciated. Thanks <3

    shipping via fedex will be the most expensive option. Unless you need your stuff very fast, you should never ship with fedex or other express company If it is only four boxes(i assume they are just normal paper box), i think postal will be cheaper than hiring a moving company. Some of those shipping company goes by pallet rate. if you can't fill a pallet, better use post service.

When I moved from Florida to Texas, we had stuff that wouldn't fit. So we used the US mail service and mailed the stuff to ourselves. You can do it by importance as it's cheap by the piece, but to do it all at once might be more than you can spend right now.

Rent a Uhaul and get a friend or family member to drive. If you don't have a friend put an add online or in the paper trilby to find someone wanting to be where you are an give them transportation for driving.
