How does one find Corporations willing to Sponsor an Event?

I would like to find out how to get Corporate Sponsorships for a major Entertainment event. I see in local newspapers and on TV companies that Sponsor events, so how can one get Companies to Sponsor new Entertainment events? Any help will be appreciated.

Answer:
One finds these by making a probably list of sponsors (interest, past sponsorship of similar events, etc., etc.), tries to find out who the contact person is (call the company and ask), writes a short but poignant letter asking for help and then follows up with a telephone call. Expect a lot of rejections.
