Nyc app info?

Apple ipod gives email address and info to app developers?

  • I recently downloaded an app called pay anywhere blah blah. Its an app to charge other ppl's credit cards. I am sure I didn't sign up for anything or gave any information away. Nonetheless, the company called me on my cell phone, knew my name, and offered to send me an email of further information about the product. I didn't even need to give them any of that information either. Does Apple give our information away to app developers? At first, the thought sounded ridiculous, but knowing the terms and service agreement with Apple (in other words, NOBODY knows it because hardly anyone reads that stuff), they could have some type of loophole. Try it out for yourself and give it about a week for them to call you. I'd like to know the results.

  • Answer:

They can get that information. The other day on the news there was a segment about being careful about your smartphones because some apps will steal your information and hackers can do stuff with it. Sometimes they sell your numbers to company's and thats usually why you get weird text messages or calls from people or companies and stuff. So i don't think Apple gives it away, but if the app asks for permission to access personal information or something, then it can get your info.
