Would it be better to major in Economics or Business?

Should I major in Economics or Business Administration?

  • Which undergrad degree is generally more prestigious: Business Administration or Economics? After undergrad, I eventually want an MBA. I want to work for a business and eventually own my own business one day. Which one of these undergrad degrees pay more for starting salary? I'm in community taking classes right now to transfer to a four-year university. If I decide to major in Econ, will businesses hire me after graduation, or I MUST need to major in Business Administration to work at a business after graduation? I'm so confused. Please give me the best tips possible. Thanks.

  • Answer:

Business Administration is more recognized by employers, you're not gonna become an economist straight after you graduate so what you learn becomes useless, and all economists are economists because they've been in the industry for tens of years not from their degree. But Business Administration actually give you some skills you can use on your first job.

I recommend Business Administration. But businesses will hire you either way. It depends on what they are looking to hire. You will be able to rank up more with Business Administration. Good luck!
