  It's a monopoly for normal mail services. SingPost is Singapore’s designated Public Postal Licensee (PPL), providing domestic and international postal services. As the PPL, SingPost has universal service obligations such as providing islandwide letter collection and delivery services, maintaining a minimum number of postboxes and post offices for consumers’ easy access, and offering service quality according to standards set by Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). SingPost will also continue to hold the full set of letterbox masterdoor keys, to be the only one to issue national stamps and continue to maintain a centralised postal code management system. For courier services, it is not a monopoly as there are scores of local firms offering local courier services; for international courier services, there are the usual big names like Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc., as well as smaller companies.
