Why are greedy corporations trying to pass laws like SOPA and PIPA?

These companies SAY that it's because of 'lost revenue'. Yeah right.... that makes ABSOLUTELY no sense!! IF someone is downloading a movie online illegally it's BECAUSE they CAN'T afford it! Do you know how long a download takes!? Now think about downloading a whole movie!!! WOW! So someone who HAS MONEY would RATHER sit at a computer ALL DAY and download some $#!tty movie, INSTEAD OF JUST BUYING it!? Um hell no... People who HAVE money to burn on non-essential items; entertainment, restaurants, vacations, etc. HATE waiting for stuff! They will BUY themselves out of ANY pain of ANY sort! That is WHY they became rich, to live WELL!!!! GET IT YOU MORONS!? Ugh.... So where is this lost money they speak of? What, they think if they make it impossible to see it for free they will buy it! Yeah right! XD Their attitude is "If I can't see it for free then I wont see it at all." The ONLY way they are losing money is IF and ONLY IF someone is doing this INSTEAD of buying it! Otherwise they are not losing ANYTHING!!! In fact they are WASTING money pushing these bills through. They just want control over the web, that's it plain and simple. They HATE the lack of control! People are seeing right through them!!! Now you can't even download anything! I'm talking about LEGAL downloads!!! I go to a site and it tells me that it's not available! WOW! People are stupid!!! There are CHILD MOLESTERS, RAPISTS, MURDERS, VIOLENT CRIMINALS out there ON THE STREET because of PRISON OVERCROWDING!!!! The USA has NO MORE MONEY to make more jails and pay the police. So there are LESS COPS keeping us safe! More criminals out and LESS cops! Do you get this equation!? Bad - Good = Evil Yeah... and the US government is worried about people DOWNLOADING STUFF! WOW! Rapists get off with 2 months time, and down-loaders are told they can get 5 years! WOW! LET'S get our priorities straight people! It's like witnessing a MURDER and then seeing a jaywalker and INSTEAD of going to the cops about the murderer you GRILL the jaywalker and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law! IT'S INSANE! I swear if any law should be made it should be to not make any FOOLISH laws BEFORE the VIOLENT CRIMINALS are correctly taken care of and punished!

The answer to your question is simple: it is stealing. The Government is merely following what it deems to be moral and immoral. I should add corporations are profit driven. Otherwise, they would face bankruptcy.
