Dear Seller Am Mrs Anna Tunde from TN US, I just bought your item on eBay and right now am in Holland for a business trip and i would like this item to be shipped down to Ikeja Lagos Nigeria to my son and have contacted USPS International Register Mail Shipping and they told me it will cost me us$80.00, I want you to send me your PayPal email address to my PayPal email address which is ([email protected]) so i can use contacting PayPal for making out my payment, Get back to me ASAP!!! I would like to have the item shipped to the address below: Tunde Sulaimon 7 oba akinjobi ikeja, Lagos 23401 Nigeria For one I know it isn't going to cost $80 to ship an ipod there. Answer:
100% scam. There is no buyer. There is only a scammer trying to steal your ipod. The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses and will be something like "paypal@ gmail" and will say "kinldly send the tracking number for the mailed ipod and we will release the funds". No "funds" will ever make it to you but the scammer will track your ipod right to his door. Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell you email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram. You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information. Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash. As you know, whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

Nigeria = scam' Do not ship, do not even consider shipping unless you want to give your iPod away and pay to ship it to a thief

nigeria and many african countries are notorious for scamming in this way. They shouldnt need any info from you if they baught it from ebay. Personally I would relist the item and block their bids, they are more than likely going to ask you to post it abroad, they will not recieve it and your scammed, unless you have the shipping invoice, but they will convieniently want to sort the shipping out themselves! (leaving you no invoice) BTW dont email them either, they will constantly spam you.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. You never, but never accept any order from Nigeria no matter how brilliant the offer might seem. Internet scamming is almost a national past time in Nigeria with internet cafes filled with people sending mailings like the one you got. No experienced ebayer will sell anything to anyone in Nigeria. Do not answer them and contact ebay to cancel their bid.

This is a scam and honestly you should stop shipping abroad for reason like this and never give out your paypal info. You should only sell to people with a paypal account all these settings can be made to your ebay account.People like this look for low feedback so they know you are new and will fall for their scams.
This exact same woman sent me the same message for my iPod Touch I was selling on eBay. Looks like a xmas scam!

I personally stopped shipping abroad as some folks will claim they never received the item and then log a dispute against the seller. E-Bay or Paypal typically refunds their money and the seller is left out in the cold. No upside shipping to Nigeria.
It's a Nigerian SCAM DO NOT send anything and report this ASAP to Ebay and Paypal If this person bought your item on Ebay they would NEVER email you and have NO reason to ask for your Paypal account. They click Buy it Now and enter their paypal details there - the reason you use Ebay is to protect your privacy and NOT give anyone your Paypal account details DO NOT ship anything - she did not buy anything. Besides, neither Paypal nor Ebay allow accounts from Nigeria so you have no protection once the person whose account they hacked reports it and you lost your ipod, with no way to get it or your money back because you shipped to an address that was not the buyer's registered address Be sure to change your settings so you do not ship anything internationally.
