What do you think about working for walmart?
-
Yes as we all no; Walmart is a huge piece of our economy and yes, they are still growing as a powerfull company. Ever since Sam Walton died and there kids taken over it walmart has been having problems Do you think its worth all that hardlabor for a lousy too weeks pay when they are screwing people with pay, like mistreating employees, lawsuits, bad investments, management stealing from there own stores. and etc. I used to work for the walmart in Bhm and i was one of the smart ones that left before things went out of hand. Now walmart is working people to death, people are getting calls on vacations to come in work, when a death in a family, walmart wants you to come in to work ater the funneral and so much more. Working for walmart is ok when your in school but making a carrier out of it that is not possible because walmart is still hiring people out of the streets and still denying people who have degrees. What i think Empires rises and Empires Fall nothing last forever. there will be a time and its coming near when walmart will shutt down and the only thing to rely on is sams wholesale which the last time i checked publix and cosco is taking out the business. From my own experience, i would not recommend working for walmart its a waist of time.

Working at walmart is definitely rough. But for the company themselves, they have benefited many people in need. Elderly and the Mentally challenged were given opportunities as greeters. People that work at walmart tend to have little opportunity, or at least think they have no options. Look for cities where the employment rates are high. It might be some random tight nit city right by you. But you gotta look. Wal mart pretty much sucks to work at if you have other opportunities. So look for more.

Sam waltons kids didnt take over. My husband has been with walmart for almost 5 yrs. He started as a cart pusher n now is a manager. He makes good money now. I also use to work there. Its one of the best jobs i ever had. The benefits are wonderful.

I've worked at Walmart for a little over a year now - started as a part time sales associate, went full time, then became a department manager. There are a lot of "old timers" there that have been there since the day this store opened (18 years ago). So many of them have made the comment "Sam Walton must be rolling in his grave," and "Walmart isn't what it used to be." The company used to care about their associates and customers, now the "big wigs" only care about lining their pockets with the green stuff. I can't speak for all Walmarts, but I can say I've seen the one I work at go to Hell in the year that I've been there. We're working on skeleton crews and our list of things to do gets longer and longer every day, but there's never anymore help. I work in toys and am heading into Christmas WAY understaffed - I have ONE associate. Plus, the two of us have to help in sporting goods, housewares, domestics, hardware, and wherever else because there aren't enough associates in those departments. They're combining departments and cutting back on dept. managers - we couldn't get our stuff done when we had one department, now there expecting us to cover two and three departments! And the department managers that lose their departments end up getting pay cuts because there's no other positions available at the same level or higher. The health insurance they offer sucks - it doesn't cover anything! Customers come in and complain because they can't find anyone to help them and they complain because we stopped carrying something they used to get there all the time. Countless people have made the comment that they've stopped shopping there or won't be shopping there anymore in the future because of how it's changed. The Walmart I work for is a joke - managers treat you like dirt and bark orders while they walk around the store on their cell phones and customers treat you like dirt because they know you have to just stand there and take it (if you want to keep your job). I have never been as miserable as I am now working at Walmart. I don't know how many times the BS from that place has brought me to tears. It's ridiculous and it sucks, because the higher ups just don't care about us anymore. And to all the people that shop there - they don't care about you anymore either. Walmart might offer the lowest prices, which is something A LOT of us need, but I don't think they're the kind of company to be supporting. If I could quit right now I would. Unfortunately, I need a job. As soon as something else comes along though, I am out those doors. Even though I have to work there, I have stopped shopping there. Once I quit, I am NEVER setting foot in another Walmart again.

OK, first off -LEARN TO SPELL!! second, walmart gives opportunities to folks who could not get a job other-wise, AND they help provide low prices for folks who can not afford expensive crap. I suggest you stop lying and don't judge a book by its cover -I KNOW you have never actually worked there.

I worked at a Super Center Wal-Mart for 8 years and it was okay in the beginning because I was naive and right out of high school and was looking for a job. The longer I worked there, the more policies changed and it made working there Hell. You could only be sick a certain amount of days in a 6 month period and a doctor's excuse didn't matter anymore. The hours were long and ridiculous, like 2-11pm and then have to open at 7 am the next day and you had to be able to work any shift and in any department or you got your hours cut down to 10 a week, even if you were full time. There were fewer floor associates and the few that were left had to work in several departments at once. It wasn't worth the stress, hard work and bullsh** to get paid only minimum wage. I'm glad I quit and don't miss it at all. Working retail makes you hate people and shopping, especially dealing with crazy Christmas shoppers and rude customers who are so mean because you can't do something for them according to Wal-Mart's policies and they make you cry. I really feel sorry for all retail workers, they are underpaid and under-appreciated.
