Has anyone bought a TV from eBay? How was it?

I have just bought a TV off ebay. I have payed using paypal. The TV is for collection only, which is fine?

  • as i only live a short distance from the seller. This is the first time i have bought something from ebay, so can anyone tell me how long i should wait before I contact the seller for their address or phone number so that i can collect my TV.

  • Answer:

    if you paid with pay pal then usually the seller will email you to say they have received payment,so any time after that, you could always email the seller and ask if payment has cleared and when to collect, through my experience the sellers are real friendly so they wont object to an email

Send them an e mail straight away. I'm surprised they asked to be payed via Paypal and not cash on collection as they have to pay Paypal fees.

If you are polite, send them an email as soon as you want. There is a "3 day" rule for buyers to pay the seller, but apart from that there are no hard and fast rules about how long you should wait. Send them an email just to say hello and you look forward to speaking to them.

You should contact them straight away, to make arrangements to pick up the TV, at a time that is convenient to both of you.

Do it now! And if you ever sell anything on Ebay and do it collection only, dont accept paypoo as a method of payment - the potential for chargeback is huge!!!

i bought same way,emailed seller soon as payment went through arranged to pick it up next day,drove twenty miles,got tv,nice guy no prob.its your telly now,get it sorted.
