Is it hard to install car dvd built in headrests?

Best solution for video in a car on a trip?

  • I've tried it all. Nothing seems to work well. I have a small SUV and 2 young kids (age 4 and 5) and on long trips I would like to provide the kids with the ability to watch DVDs. I've tried the portable DVD players where they hold it on their laps... but the other one can never see it that way (they are in booster seats, one on one side of the SUV and one on the other. I've tried the kind that goes between the headrest and hangs inbetween them... it doesn't work because then you can't turn around from the front seat and help the kids in the back with stuff because this thing is in your way. I've tried the dual screen units that hang on the headrest and one has the DVD player in it and a wire runs to the other screen... it doesn't work because you basically have to take the unit down every time you want to play a new DVD and the 4 and 5 year olds can't do it alone... which means you have to pull over.... I looked into monitors built into the headrests... but its a $600 expense and the SUV has 100,000 miles on it... don't want to put that much cash into a truck with that many miles... any ideas???
