Hey mate I am in the same boat as you, I love motorsport and would give anything to race, but the problem is $$$ You need alot of cash to race these days, it is all sponsors and if you want to be successfull, you either need a major sponsor to pay you heaps of money to race if you are good, or a rich family. Mark Webber was lucky, he started his career late in his life (compared to other Formula 1 drivers) and got Yellow Pages to sponser him to guide him to Formula 1 If you want, you can find a cheap go kart off the trading post or something like that, and go to your local track and just compete in weekend events and see if you get recognized by anyone willing to help you. I would say if you aren't very wealthy, that is your best hope. Good luck with racing mate. Really wish it was easier for me and you :(

race. there are local tracks in most places with tracks. race. go to any race that will let you and race. it doesn't matter what you drive, race and win. if you start winning YOUR CLASS, people will notice, you'll get some sponsors and be able to move up in class... until one day, maybe you'll get something really fun to drive. also, attend a racing school. this will allow you to be noticed quick. there are dozens of them around the US and Europe.
