Is it illegal to use a free newspaper to distribute your own flier?

How do you clean your cars tinted windows? I like to use newspaper on windows. Is that okay?

  • I know I have to use a cleaner made for tinted windows, which I have, but I don't know if it's okay to use newspaper on it. Don't think I'm crazy, newspaper cleans waaaaay better than a papertowel on windows. Any advice would be great!

  • Answer:

No ammonia as the other person said. Use regular soap and water with a rag then dry with a lint-free towel. Don't use newspaper because the glue and ink will come off and stay on your window over time. This will make it more and more difficult in the future to clean your window. -- I speak from first hand experience cleaning a customer's windows where the lady did this for 15 years... I charged her double because I had to clean the windows 2-3 times each.

I use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water and a squeegee. Works well on any glass.

Once you have tinted windows on your car, home, or office, you can no longer clean them with the regular Windex that you have for years. You MUST NOT use window cleaner with ammonia! Ammonia is actually the chemical window tinting shops use to remove film! Try to find the non-ammonia Windex, or any alcohol based window cleaner will do well also.
