How do i make my car more stable?

how do i make my car more stable? i just got a Hyundai Getz 2010 from about a month ago , its so high off the ground , so light weight (1,000 KGs) , 1.6 liter engine. the problem is the car is unstable after 120 Kms/ Hour so i need to make it more stable , because i drive much more than 120 KMs/Hour. Note: when im driving @ 140 or 150 KMs/Hour , at some bridges (the metal thing that expands at summer and vice versa at winter) when i step on it with the car (with a little turn on the road) the car jumps off the road for just like a second , and i'm freaking out because of it.(massive instability @ 140 KMs/H and above :s) , so i need to enhance the stability of the car. if any one have any advices to give me , plz do . sorry for my bad English. Thanks

Answer:
I would try lowering the car, either with a suspension modification, or with lower profile tires. You may also be able to get stiffer sway bars, which will help with the body roll when cornering or running on uneven pavement. Your trouble is most likely in the suspension.

seriously, why did you buy a hyundai getz if you knew you were going to be driving fast?!?!?!,,what were you thinking!!!. fix the problem buy getting rid of the car and getting one suited for the job you need it to do, in this case go fast cause hyundai arnt good at the whole fast thing.

the weight is not a problem,i have an old car with the same weight but has a perfect handling your problem is with the car itself, this car is a toy,far to be a real car and its not safe at all,car roll over easily,so either you drive slowly or just get urself a real car, maybe a little bit older with the same cost but a real one, Korean cars sucks.

The guy who said that Hyundais are not stable at high speed is correct. So you really need to slow down. Or buy another car. But if you absolutely have to drive that fast in your Hyundai, then go out and buy nice tires, and the best shock absorbers that can fit in the car. But those are your only three choices: slow down, get a new car, or spend the money on the tires and shocks.

It's top heavy...meaning you gotta make it bottom heavy. How? With lead weights. It will kill your gas mileage but take care of the problem. Actually with light weight cars usually the engine is mid-mounted (or rear mounted) (see: renault clio v6) to evenly distribute the weight. That would probably cost too much. Still might want to look into it if you like this car (who could ever love a hyundai... ;( ) @others...remember he's talking about around 65mph.

Lower the car and throw a shheitload of weight in the trunk..
