How many lessons would it take me to pass my driving test?
-
Hi I will be 16 in 3 months. I am considering taking a guranteed pass course which would cost me £1,000 and I could take unlimited amount of driving lessons and the company would also pay for my practical and theory untill I pass. In this way I am hoping to pass my driving within a month as I could take like 3 hours of driving lessons per day I live in the UK. I'm wondering whether it is worth it to take driving lessons in this way to pass or to just pay as you go which would cost around £20 per hour. I have never drove a car before so I don't have any experience. My sister spent almost £3,000 on her driving lessons so that she could pass. So I'm wondering how many lessons it would take me to pass?

Answer:
well that depends on you, my parents only paid the legally required 12 hours of training and I easily passed my test. I'm from the US (California). I know driving in the UK is a bit different than what I do in California, but its still the same thing, you got signals, right-of-way, lane changing, parallel parking, speed limits, etc. anyway, it's depends on how good are you with a car and how fast you learn. if you feel you're hte type that can have trouble driving take that unlimited lesson course. if you're like me that kinda knew how to drive (all theory) long before you're of driving age you cna probably do the £20/hr system and be ready to take the test in a few hours of training. I kinda had a natural born talent or something. the first time I drove i that instructor's car it took me only 30 minutes or so and I was driving as If I've been driving all my life. ------ I was driving when I was 17. I took 3 days 4 hrs each training with a licensed professional teacher. day 1 was about neighborhood day 2 is about around town and short stretch of freeway day 3 is about freeway trips. I had no trouble on the local roads, only on the freeway I had some issues, my eyes couldn't catch up at the rate we were going (65 mph / 110 kph) that took me a while to adjust to. things got blurry as we neared hte freeway speed, i guess my brain isn't able to process that fast. ever see Fast & furious series of movies? when they hit the nitro and things got blurry? well it was like that. anyway after a few hours my eyes adjusted so it wasn't too hard. 6 months is the minimum "practice" time in my state, with 12 hours professional and 50 hours additional with parents or other driver over 21 years. when that 6 months came, 6-26-2006, I was ready for the test. I breezed thru it without a single mistake and the test lady even complemented me on my incredibly smooth driving! she said it was being in a limo. anyway in the years since I've gone about 65,000 miles (110,000 km), I love to drive and can say I'm probably one of the most experienced drivers around, having been in every weather and road condition regionally possible. I had only one ticket, that was due to some fancy new all digital signal that was really confusing, it had white instead of red signals, usually white means go but some idiot decided to make white = red. I have never been in an accident thought I narrowed avoided about two dozen. I always seem to be that really unlucky guy that's always in the wrong place at the wrong time, but due to my lighting fast reflexes, quick thinking and skill I was avoid to avoid them all.

your question is irrelevant because you have to be 17 to take driving lessons and have a provisional licence. In the UK most drivers need a minimum of one lesson per their age, plus or minus this depending on your ability
