Why can't I learn how to drive?

  • I'm 22 and I got my driver's permit in June. I never learned how to drive. At 16, I tried to learn but I failed the test for the permit too many times and just gave up. The thing about me is that I'm very smart. I learn things fast and I remember things very well. I just can't learn how to drive. Everytime I sit at the wheel, I forget everything. I don't go fast enough or I go too fast. I don't turn right, I forget to look at my mirrors when I want to change lanes. It seems like my aunt (who is teaching me) is getting too frustrated with me. My mom gave up on me years ago. My driver's ed teacher in high school said she'd never been so afraid to be in a vehicle with someone. My boyfriend promised he would teach me to drive if I got my permit but one day I crashed into the curb and messed up his tire because I couldn't remember how to make a right turn. Now he has stopped teaching me. What's wrong with me? Why is driving so hard?

    You get too nervous or think too much when you are driving, just focus on your driving, try driving around a spacious and empy parking lot first, get your muscle memory used to the driving, after you learn how to drive it's all muscle memory, and I say this because sometimes I "space out" while driving on the freeway and I would just instinctly stop whenever I have to. You should also see a doctor.

There is nothing wong with you, dear.. Many of us suffer from this problem..... Normal Driving is very easy.. God has made our body so syncronised,that when it undestands what to do , it automatically makes bodyparts to work.... Sugestions from me: 1. Be cool. 2.Sit inside the car alone , switch on music and play the song you like in low sound okay. 3.Now,take a paper & pen, write down the places of accelerator, brake pedal,clutch steering.., and try to remember them.. Dont be in hurry .. take complete one day to understand.. Enjoy learning... 4.Next day go along with along with your friend(dont go with your parents or relatives, because they care for you and they will not not allow you to take risk) to a open place( like Ground). Ask your friend to drive till you ground from home. 5. remember driving is easy.. for example assume there are two boxes kept on table one box is heavy and other is lite.. okay.... now if you want to push the heavy box, you will apply more force or less force?/ obiviously more force right.. similarly to push lighter box with less force and same medium wieght with medium force... Use this theory while driving also.. If you want to go slow just apply less focer on accelerator and when need speed just press more accelerator.. So simple right... Now things to remember; 1. while driving, only concentrate on driving and dont think or dream of anything else. 2. be cool. 3. you driving car not bike.. so remember how long and wide is your car.. dont rush to drive in small gaps.. 4. drive slow. 5. you have two legs right, so never remove your left leg from clutch pedal. 6.when you want to slowdown/ or dont want speed just remove your right leg from accelerator pedal and keep on brake peda always.. okay.... 7. use my box theory for steering also.. want to turn more, turn steering wheel more, and want to make small turn, turn the steering wheel less.. it so simple,, I dont know you risking your life and others feelings due to sily mistakes..
