Do i have to pay for another license?

Will I have to pay more for driving with an expired license?

  • So, I got pulled over for doin a 'california stop' and my license had expired earlier in the month (which I found out when the officer told me.. :(...)So my vehicle got impounded, so I had to pay $500 for that. The courtesy notice said my fine amount is $400. And I have a court date in a couple weeks... Is that $400 just for the stop sign or for the license too? Will I get more fines when I go to court for the expired license? ~~Oh and I live in California and I took care of the license the same day...)

  • Answer:

Go to court and explain what happened. Show them that you got your license the same day. Dress nice, be polite to the judge and don't act like an idiot. If you're lucky, they'll reduce the fine. If you're REAL lucky, they'll drop the charges all together. But I doubt they'll drop the fine for the rolling stop. Generally though, if you have a clean record, don't act like a douche bag in court, and you politely ask them to reduce the fine, they will! All you have to do is ask.
