Where can you learn how to customize cars?

Girl. Learning about cars?

  • Ive always had a fasination with speed, and cars, drifting bikes. And although I have a lot of other things Im more passionate about, Ive really wanted to learn about cars. How to fix them, how to build them, how to customize them. I always hear the guys in my class talk about all the ways in which there "pimping their cars," (I guess thats how id describe) and Im always curious as to what theyre talking about. How should I learn? How did you learn? How do I go about customizing my own....tires....fins...wheels....engine I have a useless 2010 dodge calliber. If I wanted to really work on making a wow, or nice car. Should I get a beat up classic and start from there. Ideas and experiences please.

Hmmm... first off I would just like to just add how COOL it is for you to ask the question, I have been schooled by a few mechanically incline gals too. Jessica being passionate about cars shows in how you take car of your ride, no matter what you like. But just like people are different... everyone's like and dislikes should be respected . Chances are you already found out the hard way about Chrysler as i did long ago with consumer Reports. My knowledge started early with auto publications and subscriptions nowadays its easily all on-line. I also took advantage of fun auto class teachers in hi school ,and college . Those few girls that braved those classes were treated like family and rightly so we didn't want them dropping out. My first ride I bought was a uncomplicated special service 5.0 ...very easy to work on ,and "mod".I taught myself how to drive a manual with it. Classic muscle cars are perfect too, easy A to work on. Parts are available through car forums, salvage yards, Ebay ,and word of mouth through your new family. .My preference are asian ... to me they are the perfect "sleepers" I did and still love surprising a few . Good luck Jess :)

You could always go to some car shows and talk to the different car clubs that attend and maybe join one. Club members are always willing to help with a project. If speed is what you like go out to your local race track and do the same thing, The best way to learn is by doing..........Good Luck!

I'm the exact same! I do all my research on line. Or you could go to the library and pick up some books about motors. xx
