Can i build and electric engine for a bicycle?

What is the difference between an 80cc slant bicycle engine and a normal 80cc bicycle engine?

  • I'm looking at buying a bike engine 2 stroke, but want to know the difference between the slant and non slant if anybody can help i would greatly appreciate it. The two are at this link: 1.) http://www.daemonbikes.com/products/Black-Slant-80CC-Moped-Bicycle-Motor-Engine-Kit.html 2.) http://www.daemonbikes.com/products/80cc-Black-Bicycle-Engine-kit.html

  • Answer:

one reason I could think of for the difference is, center of gravity(COG) for the bicycle. if the engine cylinder is vertical then the COG will be more high of the ground which effects handling of the bicycle or bike. if the engine is horizontal then the COG will be in lower position but the engine oil supply will be difficult it requires a special mechanism which adds up weight which in turn depreciates the handling. so they arrive at an optimum angle to place the engine so the COG stays low and no extra weight is added.
