What is the cheapest/best option for long term car rental (UK)?

  • I was wondering, I need a car for about 3 months, now normal car rental would cost me about £1000 a month plus zero access cover and when I give it back I have nothing. So leasing, including insurance, seemed to be an option as it is way cheaper and if I decide to keep the car in the end, the money isn't wasted. But I read that leasing contracts are very hard to end early or pass on? I might be able to keep the car longer or buy it but I would definitely need the option to back out sooner or later. Is there any other alternatives ? Maybe private rentals? Thanks

    You'd be better buying one and selling it when you're done. If you know what to look for, and aren't expecting something in brilliant condition, shopping around can find you a decent safe little runaround for about £500. If you don't know what to look for I'm sure you'll know someone who does.

get a yellow page and start calling all the car leasing agency..leasing car is your option i think.. but its not very expensive, it always depend on what type of car you are after. My x manager had pugeot 207 for £179.99 a month. cant give you more info as i lost his contact. private leasing.. not too sure how much it couldve cost you as its gonna have something to do with the insurance.. but you can give it a go by advertising free on your local free ads..and insurance quot from comparision website..

I agree with Robot Menace, buy then sell. Leasing would normally be for a longer period.
