Diesel Generators or Petrol Generators?

Can you put your feedback on this interesting problem?

  • Can you guys please put your views/solutions to the following funny problem::: Am wondering if electric cars like Electric Spark, Tata Indica Electric, Reva (which already exist non-existingly) etc... etc... makes it to the Indian roads, then how will some of the States (like Punjab, MP, UP, Jharkhand...) where there is virtually no electricity in the summers cope up with the surge in Electricity Demands... I think, making these cars run will be even more expensive than today's' conventional cars (Diesel and Petrol)... Since we will need to keep our 'diesel run' generators ON to charge our car batteries... Which will be like burning your fuel unnecessarily when it is stationary... Funny? Is'nt it? Please take this into consideration that states like Punjab, MP etc... etc... are already under huge debt of 60000 crores of indian rupees... so putting up Solar Plants and an Atomic Plant (to prop up the electricity requirement) is just out of the question.... and the immediate need to re-charge such cars will have to be fullfilled on an individual basis (who will have to look for means such as diesel run generators and solar powered chargers etc... etc...)... so these cars will be more expensive to run (initially for sure).... It not a funny issue, but a serious imbalance of supply and demand in the future)... also, there are no plans at present on the drawing board to setup alternative source of power plants in such states... so, think carefully and suggest some solutions that we might look at...

  • Answer:

I appreciate.....but from my point of view....HYBRID cars would be more appropriate in comparison to electric cars for the states of India.HYBRID cars run on both gasoline and electricity...While driving on gasoline and braking...its battery gets charged...and when the battery is charged...you can run it on the battery.......These cars are quite expensive but once launched, they would be more successful than electric cars in India......Just imagine that you are driving in your electric car and you need to drive a long route where there is lack of electricity, power-cut,so and so.....(Normal in India)...how would you manage to get your electric car charged......So....HYBRID cars would be a good option if you wish to control pollution and reduce excess consumption of fuel.............See Ya!!

How about using wind energy......... , it may take some initial cost but compared to other this is better.

well, a catch 22 situation. i thnk praveen is right, we can think of wind powered energy to charge our cars. but funny? what a thinking. lol! :-D

Hello Sonia I think we should concentrate on the problem of today which is 'fuel mismanagement' by curbing large vehicles so that we can delay the inevitable situation like this in our early life. Your point is very good and a valid one, but who will look beyond the visible future problems. Good issue Raghav TechnoForum.com

i think you have a good point of view but just think world running out of fuel .. it will not work so to have some time to solve this problem of fuel should use electricity because it is mainly made from water and solar power which are renewable sources.

How about Hydro Electric Cars Sonia?

my stat wil solve this problem don't wory. hail maharashtra.
