Tips for parallel parking...?

  • ive been driving for a while now on my permit and im gonna have my road test soon but i need to practice parallel parking. i wanted some tips for it so i could learn to do it sooner and better. what did you do to learn? tips?

    Unfortunately no one told me this when I learned to drive and I wish they would have. It almost impossible to effectively pull off a good parallel park job going in head first unless you have more than one space to work with. Always, if possible, pull in front of the space and back in, this will ensure that the angle in which you approach is the best angle for parallel parking.

Its not to hard to do after your first couple of times. Things to do are keep it real slow as in don't use the gas pedal at all. line your self up with the mirror of the front car. when turning pull the wheel all the way over and adjust from there. Also I don't think they make you parallel park any more but it most likly depends.

get very familiar with the car you'll be taking the test on. if you know where the four corners of the vehicle are and how sharp you can steer it, you'll do fine. practice parking as close to objects(without hitting them)that won't damage the car like a traffic cones.

you have a space between to cars drive your car parallel to the one in front of you back up aiming your driver side tail light at the car behind you soon as you see the back of the car in front of you,turn your wheel counterclockwise.practice practice practice good luck.

practice, practice, practice. a way you can do better is not to be nervous and focus on what your doing, because when you are nervous you are not focusing, and this is what makes alot of people fail their test the first time

watch Shaolin Soccer. after you should have no trouble kicking your car into the spot. (seriously, just practice)
