Why are driving lessons getting so expensive now?

The insurance the driving companies are forced to carry. The amounts and coverage are going up, so the costs go up. They need to make money to pay their bills so the prices have to go up.

Cost of insurance and running a driving school is high. But spend the money. Driving is a very important skill and if you don't learn it right, you might kill yourself and/or a family of 4. I took lessons from driving school and it was $ well spent. I thought that I knew it all, but really learned a lot and got much better after taking the classes.

We paid 35 dollars for behind the wheel and 130 dollars for the classroom portion for driving lessons for our daughter. The other company was charging about 300 dollars for just behind the wheel. I think the reason prices are going up so high is insurance costs and the cost of the cars. Plus you need to pay for the instructors time. Where we live you only need to take driver instruction if you are under 16. If you are older, you can take the test without completing any course work

Law of supply and demand. Educators can charge much more to illegals that need to learn to drive. How can you steal a car if you don't know how to drive it. If you are talking about yourself you could become an illegal immigrant and drive alll the time, get tickets run into people and nothing will happen to you. Seriously when Bush approved that Nafta deal for the over 2.5 million Mexician trucks to bring there stuff on American hit the roads they have to learn. Seriously I was run into by an illegal from South America and in a car that belonged to her illegal boyfreidn from another country down there. At first she was nice and kept saying she ws on lunch break and didn't have her "I.D." with her. should have know by that. When the law showed up she started cuzzing and said they could tow it. In other words this wasn't the first time she had been in a minor wreck and the other lawman did the right thing and had it towed. tThis guy didn't. no insurance or anything. The way he verified who she was is he called her illegal hiring boss at the eyeglasses making place in Lewisville Texas and he told the cop she worked there. She didn't get a ticket and I hope she doesn't kill someone and she is not held accountable for anything and the money grubbing scum bag boss ain't paying taxes or workers comp. But that's it in a nut shell. The illegals pay more because they don't pay taxes, just ablood suck our country. Go to a Western Union place even at a grocery store on Friday night and see how many are sending $500-600 out of the country to their country, tax free. ICE should set up there. I remember oour country sent over 2 million jobs out of the country by moving businesses and factories to Mexico because they worked for less. Now, due to slave labor they are in china so they can pollute and destroy the earth and not get fined. What a joke and it may be too late for the country. Australia may be the last hope.

Looking at some of the shite driving on the UK's roads they need to do something to up the standard! Joyriders will do this no matter whether they have a license or not. It is the thrill of the chase and the buzz of the kudos, not the fact they have not got a license.

petrol is a start plus they like to penalise lower income people in this country green tax= if your rich its ok to have a big old 4x4 but the poor man cant afford it so the poor people save the planet for the rich?

Because the cost of everything is going up! Driving Instructors have to buy things too you know, and need the money to do so! I think Driving Lessons are a real bargain at around £20!, they should be double!

Insurance rate for those offering lessons keep going up.

Because the (Nanny) Government would really rather you didn't drive at all, as you pollute the environment. (As they arrive at work in their Chauffeur driven limos, or fly off for some pointless useless conference in outer Mongolia)
