How much should I bring for parking on South Street in Philly?

Street parking about 3 or 4 people near me bring home their work vans which are big national companys is there?

  • anything that can be done to stop them bringing them home? as when they do there is not enought parking spaces for people who live there. before people say park somewhere else i did once and had a 400 quid bill after Vandals did damage to about 12 cars and Police cant do fa.

There used to be a ban on parking liveried vehicles (vehicles in company colours) on a public road at night but I don't know and cannot find any up to date info. What size are the vehicles? There is laws covering the parking of large vehicles (larger than say a Transit) in a 30 mph limit at night. IIRC they need sidelamps on and be parked facing the direction of the traffic (i.e not on the wrong side of the road). The problem of course is getting someone to take any action. Do any of these vehicles have a 'How's my driving' sticker on them? a call to the number given may prompt a response. Parking across a driveway is illegal, but only if the kerb is lowered to allow vehicular access, and can be reported to the police for action.

If the vehicles are taxed, M.O.T.'d and insured and they are parked legally, there is nothing you can do about it. You do not have a right to park in front of your own property.

Unfortunately there isnt any thing you can do other than try to come to some sort of compramise with the people involved.
