What is light industrial work?

Man getting late for work, jumps red light and kills pedestrian. what punishment should he get?

  • a man who has very good relationship with boss, realizes he is getting late for work. He decides it would be embarassing to reach late at work and so drives very fast and jumps red light. A pedestrian is knocked dead along with his dog, as a result. But the man still doesn't stop and keeps rushing to work. Later he is arrested at work, and he says he has no idea he ever hit anyone and thats news for him.

    10 years custodial sentence, death by dangerous driving. It's not justice but that's what he would face. More likely is 3 years inside. The man would have equated the pedestrians life with being late for work. It's like saying that someone's life is worth $10. This is a strange type of ethics. There has been a number of studies done. Many people would say that it is inexcusable to kill one person to save another. Some would even argue that you shouldn't kill one person to save many. So killing someone just because you are late for work is a big no-no. Personally, I think he should be executed. When you drive a car, you have a responsibility to drive in a manner that reduces the risk to other road users. If that responsibility is too much for you, then you take the bus. Driving beyond the conditions of the road and with disregard to other road users puts them in harms way which is unacceptable.

There would be three charges........ 1. Vehicular Manslaughter.. 2. Hit and Run.. 3. Failure to stop and render aid.. This should be a sentence of a minimum of 25 years in jail as well as a heavy fine for compensation to the family of the victim.........

um.. that is vehicular man slaughter and a hit and run. i think he deserves 25 to life in prison. i am not a lawyer but thats a crime. not an "accident" its not as if someone ran out of nowhere in front of a car going through a green light.

In the UK that would be, as a minimum, 1. Failing to stop at the scene of an accident or failing to report an accident - 6 months prison, £5000 fine and discretionary ban (according to Judge) OR 3-11 points on license. (if not banned) 2. Death by dangerous driving. 14 years prison, unlimited fine and minimum 2 years driving ban.

He should get LIFE WITH NO CHANCE OF PAROLE. First off he has NO reason for speeding or killing someone. Oh I was late for work, LAME. Then he didn't know he hit someone? I call BULL. You would HEAR the hit(unless your radio was way to loud) and would FEEL it. He wasn't paying ANY attention to the road if he didn't notice and Lord only knows what else he would have hit had it got in the path.

If it happened in Australia he would probably get 6 months in prison and then sell his story to television and magazines and make millions of dollars telling everyone that he was abused as a child and a recovering alcoholic.
