Provisional license to regular license in CA q?

When is my license not provisional? (CA)?

  • On the front of my driver's license, it says I'm provisional until I'm 18. On the back, it says I'm provisional after 12 months. I'm 17 but I've had my license for over a year. Am I still provisional? Has anyone else run into this problem?

  • Answer:

There are restrictions that continue for 12 months. You can't... • Transport passengers under 20 years of age at any time, for the first twelve months. • Drive between 11 pm and 5 am for the first twelve months. Even after those go away, you are still provisional until age 18, as it clearly states.
