Where is Speed Speaks?

Where can I purchase one of those speed radar signs that show your speed as you drive by?

  • I live on a private dirt road where there are lots of kids playing all the time. The speed limit is 20 mph but is not unusual to see cars going over 50 miles per hour. I thought one of those radar speed signs might be a deterrent . Trying to find a solution until $250 - used would be fine. or any other ideas to slow down the traffic would be appreciated. speed bumps are not a possibility as I don't own the road. thanks.

    put lots of glass in the road just past your driveway and then when the people drive on it...POP... and you never have to worry about running over it if you do not exit your driveway in that direction... I'm just kidding.....If you call and speak to the local pd. they will set one up for you..... My police dept had no problem doing it on my rural street Have a good one

Having one of those radars in the hands of civilians is illegal. Ask your local authorities to put more street signs that says something about reducing speeds. If it's not too much of an asking from the police, have a patrol car guard that area. Police visibility is a guaranteed deterrent.

This is a bit of a guess, but have you check sporting goods stores" I do not know if they would work for cars, but all the sports amusements places have radar to measure and display the speed of a pitched ball etc... that might work and be easier than getting what is likely exclusive law enforcement/ gov equipment.
