When is rush hour traffic on 124?

Anybody taken their driving test in rush hour traffic?

  • I have my driving test booked for 8:10am I live in the UK, so most of the traffic starts at like 8am for kids getting to school and people getting to work by 9am So I'll be driving from 8:10am to 9:40/50am Has anyone taken their test this early? I know there is bound to be rush hour traffic so did you take yours in traffic? What happened? , was it easier for you compared to when you took it at like. What manovers did you get, was it just a lot of clutch control or a steady flow?

    Mine was at 11ish, so, but there was a lot of traffic because of people building on the roads and it was near lunch time yadda yadda. I got the 3 point turn and parking between the cars. There was a lot of clutch control aswell as a steady flow.

This is highly unusual as most test centres avoid rush hour test. Mainly because potentially your whole test could be in a traffic jam. You can request a different time, it might be that it will be at a later date.

The worse the conditions the better it is for you. In my test it started pissing down rain (like cant see 10ft in front of you almost monsoonal rain). the testers dont pick on the minor details as much if you handle something more difficult. I had two other tests (I failed) before that one on perfectly clear calm days and the testers picked on tiny details to make me fail.

Stop worrying. If it's busy you will travel less distance, so it's swings and roundabouts. Safety is paramount in the examiner's mind so be confident and careful. Not hesitant though.

Yes, since we learn only on non-automatic cars in Iceland, I had to shift him down like 100 times, it was fun..
