Is it possible to fit a laptop in a car?

Is it possible to fit three children in a back seat and which car seats will work?

• I have three kids ages 5,4 and 3. I am trying to find a way to fit them all into the baby-sitter's car, so that she can get them to school. Does anybody know of a narrow backless booster, or some combination that might work. I thought that maybe 2 Sunshine Radians and a booster in the middle. I want to make sure that my kids are safe, but we would prefer not to have to purchase a third car. Any thoughts?

  I've done 'three across' carseats many times with full out harnessed carseats. (We avoid belt positioning boosters as long as possible for added safety.) My kids are now 5 1/2, 4 and 2... they are currently in two Graco Nautilus seats forward facing and a Cosco Sceneca rearfacing. You really can't know how they will fit till you try *those seats* in *that* car though... because all cars and seats are different and 'puzzle piece' together differently. ETA: Do keep in mind that a belt positioning booster (even a backless one) requires a seatbelt with a *shoulder* belt... so if the sitter's middle seat has only a lap belt a harnessed carseat should go in that position. ETA: I just read your other question about the babysitter that drove the kids without a carseat! Is this the same sitter? If so I wouldn't trust her to put them in the carseats correctly unless showed her how, saw her do it myself, and made sure she understood that if they were not buckled in just as well each and every time they rode she would *never* sit for me again! That is *insane* that she put children in a car without carseats. I can understand giving her a second chance... but I wouldn't cut her an *inch* of slack on this issue again.
