How much does central air conditioning cost?

Does my car have air conditioning..if so how much will it cost to fix?

• First of all i am a total NOOB when it comes to cars :) I passed my test around 2 months ago and im currently using my dads car. Its a 1997 vauxhall astra :) The heater/air con? has two knobs on the inside. One changes the amount of air that passes through the vent and the second controllers the heat. On winter days, when its turned up to the full heat, its normally cold until you drive around 2-3 miles. However on HOT days your buggered lol When your driving along and turn the Temperature to cold you just get warm air coming through the vents. Like i say im using my dads car and really want to upgrade it for him as a thank you for helping me out with the driving lessons and also for letting me use his car. He's sort of just accepted the car as it is (along with its faults). Un till recently he had a cassette deck with a broken radio. Now the car has a cd player with a fully working radio and he loves it lol. So will it cost much to repair? Im saving up for my own car and should have enough in 2 - 3 months so i cant pay out £300+. A friend says it may need to be re-gased? No idea what that is or costs. As far as i know it hasn't worked for around 10 years (well that's when he bought it)

  Very unlikely it got air con I think it was a option only on the gsi model and only on the phase 2 version at that
