How much does it cost to paint a car at Maaco?

How much would this paint job cost?

• With Christmas time and income tax season coming through I plan to get a paint job on my car. The paints peeling so im going to have to get the whole car done. Its a black neon. I was thinking of repainting it black with two gray race stripes on the top, or yellow with black stripes as seen on those camaro's http://www.ramasscreen.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/2010-chevy-camaro-z28-front.jpg like that. I am planning on going to maaco, and just getting the cheapest paint type they have. How much would you say it will cost? I know they have the basic paint job for 200 bucks, but for the stripes about how much more? Thanks

  Okay here is the thing about a basic paint job. Usually Maco does this. First of all you have to do all the body work yourself. So you would have to sand it properly using the correct grit. Get rid of any rust by cutting or sanding it out. Then you would have to prime the area's as needed. If it is peeling chances are the whole thing would need to be re-primed. This is the gray paint your seeing under the black paint. If you do all of that and it is done right. Then you will pay about 200 bucks for the paint and clear coat. Racing stripes will cost you extra as to how much the rates vary. Call your local body shop to see how much it would cost. You can even bring it down for an esitimate, But it is only an estimate. They run into any rust or body damage and they have to spend more time to make it look good. If not and they have to do everything your looking at about 3000 to 5000 dollars depending on the body. Less if it doesn't need much body work. Best bet save for a new car if it goes above 1000
