What Is Gm Parts Giant?

Link for information on employee purchases for GM parts?

  • I have a Pontiac Montana where the alternator is not putting out full amperage. The list price for a part is $200, and in our area, I can only get a dealer part. Does anyone have a link to information on the employee parts purchase program that GM has or had? Employees used to get 50% off parts, but I haven't used the program for maybe 15 years (a relative is a retired GM worker). Thanks.

  • Answer:

GM offers active or retired employees the option to purchase parts at a discount for themselves or family members for GM vehicles only -excluding Saturn & Saab. The employee must call 1-800-433-6961 M-F 8-4 PM Eastern for order info. You'll need Soc. Sec. #, VIN and option codes(found on a sticker in glove box or trunk). Representatives will provide part #, price, availability, and nearest stocking location. Then they will guide the employee thru the process of obtaining the part or placing an order.
