Why is my butane lighter not working?

Why is my cigarette lighter not working?

  • I have a 2000 Honda Passport. Both cigarette lighters have been working fine before today, I unplugged my Sirius radio to plug in a cell phone charger. When the charger didn't work, i plugged my Sirius back in and it didn't work either. Now, neither one of my cigarette outlets work and i can't figure out why. My fuses are good. That's the first thing i checked. I don't know where to go from here.

  • Answer:

You need to push in the cigarette lighter for it to work.

umean ur car fuses or ur radio fuses cuz u have to check both.the cigarette lighter plug it use a positive and a negative cables only.plus the fuse, the only way it can get damaged is by either a fuse or one of the cables burned,is disconnected when u pull the socket or the negative or positive contact inside the socket are not doing good contact...i hope this helped.

could be the fuse, element, short or ground wire.

It's most likely your fuse look for the fuse box underneath the dash board on the driver side or on the side of the dash board also on the driver side. Some vehicles will have the fuse box in the glove compartment the fuse box cover will tell you which fuse is for the lighter.

LOOK FOR YOUR FUSE PANEL AND LOOK FOR THE FUSE.OK NOW YOU FOUND THE FUSE PULL IT OUT AND LOOK THROUGH IT AND MAKE SURE THE METAL CONTACT IS NOT BROKEN IF IT IS THEN REPLACE IT AND YOUR DONE .MOST COMMON WITH ALL THIS PLUGED IN.
