Where should i get a diagnostic check for my Honda?

How do you empty the gas from a Honda civic 1991, I got bad gas in there and need to get a smog check?

  • This is time sensitive today is the last day of my extension from the dmv and need to get it smog this evening, thanks for your help

  • Answer:

Just get some octane booster, the good stuff for about $8, that will fix it up. I don't know how you got bad gas, does it have water in it, then get some of that stuff that dries up water. otherwise pull off the hose on the gas tank and get a gas can and drain it, but have a fire extinguisher standing by.

undo fuel line from bottom of fuel filter and connect a hose to it and turn key off and on to empty tank! or reeemove bak seat and there should be a line coming off the top of the pump assy. and connect hose into a container. and cycle thet key.

Well what do you mean bad gas? There are gas treatments that you can do to help unless it's rusty/dirty.Otherwise put a hole in the bottom of the tank and get a self tapping screw with a neoprene gasket.Or put a couple of bottles of dry gas in there and that should improve it.

Crawl under the car look for a drain plug on the fuel tank. If there isn't one then you will have to pull the fuel pump from the top of the tank, under the rear seat and siphon the fuel out. Then add a yellow bottle of Heet to the tank before you refill it. That should take care of any moisture that got in the system.

check to see if it has a drain bolt on it. on bottom of the tank. not sure if the 91 has it or not but its worth a try good luck.

Just drive around the block 100x really fast. Burn up the fuel.

all you can do is siphon it out if you need it out that fast ,and add some good gas to it,that's the fastest way to get it out of there that i know of,you cant run it out that fast, that's about the only way ,good luck.

Well back then u'd usually take a rubber tube, put it ib the gas tank, and start sucking the gas out till it came out itslef. That usually got u sick. I'd suggest going to an auto-shop and have it removed professinoally. Plus u' dget smog check.

Siphon it out with a hose (liquids always seek the lowest level), or else disconnect the gas line and let it drain. Either way works, but if you chose the former, be careful. Gas tastes like dreck!
